Fresh from our family to yours.
Welcome to KAMMI Produce
KAMMI Produce is the world's leading grower of Kiwano. We're really proud to be a family-owned and run business. We have over 30 years’ experience growing this amazing and super-healthy fruit.
The world's best Kiwano
Whatever your Kiwano needs are, we've got you covered.
Our farms in Northern California (Green Gold Ranch) and New Zealand (KAMMI Produce) provide fresh produce retailers, wholesalers and specialty grocers around the globe with high quality Kiwano year round. We'd love to chat with you about how we can help grow your business.
Our consumer brand is Enzed Exotics Kiwano. Available in standard and BIOGRO-certified organic varieties, Enzed Exotics Kiwano is shipped around the world. We also supply Kiwano unlabelled for retailers and specialist grocers to market under their own brand.
SO FRESH, SO GOOD!
Our experience and pride in our product is what sets us apart. After over three decades in the Kiwano business, we know the perfect conditions needed to grow Kiwano of superior quality and longevity, as well as the ideal conditions to grade, ship and store it.
FRUIT YOU CAN TRUST
We’re hands on in every aspect of our business, ensuring only the best Kiwano make it through. We get to know our customers and understand their needs. We love the produce game, and the passionate people in it.
YEAR-ROUND SUPPLY
Kiwano is a summer fruit – but when you grow in both hemispheres you get two summers! Harvest runs from June to August in California and January to March in New Zealand. Kiwano’s amazing shelf life means we can supply customers year-round.
IT'S A KEEPER
Stored under the right conditions, Kiwano has an incredible all-natural shelf life of up to 8 weeks. Some will last even longer! Our sea-freighted fruit is timed so that it arrives at your storage facility with fruit ready for market.
A FAMILY TRADITION
We’re a family business, and there’s a special pride behind what we do.
The KAMMI family is a mix of two proud nations. Our Managing Director Renee Hutchings is from the USA. She planted her first Kiwano seedlings in the 1980s, going on to pioneer commercial growing in New Zealand.
The next generation is our head grower Isaac Hutchings and director of marketing Monique Hutchings. Born in New Zealand, these two "Kiwi kids" grew up immersed in the family business. Today this tight-knit team travel between both countries depending on the season.
Healthy, refreshing and incredibly versatile
With a funky orange exterior and vibrant green pulp, Kiwano melon catches the eye - and the imagination.
The green jelly-like pulp inside a Kiwano is where all the goodness and enjoyment is. Although the skin is edible, it doesn’t have much flavour (it does make a great looking garnish or natural serving bowl though).
THE TASTE
The pulp is cool and refreshing. We describe the flavour as an exotic mix of just-ripe banana, tart lime, and passionfruit.
HOW TO EAT
Kiwano is delicious eaten fresh on its own and is also super versatile. Try it in smoothies, juices, breakfast bowls and desserts. Or add a healthy boost to salads, salsas, sauces, dips, with seafood and so much more.
We'd love to hear from you.
